Video update on Costanera Sur project

The Costanera Sur is one of the great scenic drives of Costa Rica. The entire distance from Dominical to Quepos, the road parallels the Pacific, but unfortunately it has been a gravel washboard; until now. We have been documenting the construction progress in a series of posts. They’re available for your review; just follow the links below.
This is the $40 million section of the highway connecting San Jose to the Costanera. It will cut the 2.5 hour drive from San Jose to Jaco to about 45 minutes. The section from Quepos to Dominical is on schedule to be finished the end of 2009 and will cut a 2.5 hour drive to about 30 minutes. All of this is being done keeping the environment and local flora and fauna in mind through the use of eco-tunnels and bridges. We sent our roving reporters Jenny and Krissy down to check out the progress for us:
