Paul Johnson of GoSculptura Costa Rica, a medical tourism agency that arranges packages for cosmetic surgery in Costa Rica, comments on medical tourism in Costa Rica
“Doctors are teaming up to create an elite medical group to take care of patients who are opting to get cosmetic surgery in Costa Rica. There are hospitals that specialize in elective and major surgeries. Here are some of the travel packages offered to people based in the United States. For a dental work travel package that includes transportation, 15-day stay in a good hotel, lunch, a complimentary national park tour from a choice of three, a massage and the surgical procedure, the cost is around US$2450. The stomach bypass procedure for obesity with the same inclusive services will only cost you US$1800. And the most popular are the cosmetic surgery packages that run at about US$2650. Patients can save 60% of cost if compared to prices in the United States and in Europe. Patients can choose to stay for a fortnight in a country hotel or recovery centre for a more private recuperation.”
