More Costa Rican Businesses Are Turning To Email Advertising To Promote Their Products and Services

More and more Costa Rican companies have begun using email to sell their products and services. Using unwanted or unsolicited emails (spam) to sell products and services in Costa Rica is now commonplace.

A report by the Spanish language newspaper, La Nación, says that more Costa Ricans are being bombarded by promotional emails and not just for viagra or other medications being offered by online pharmacies in some far out countries.

Although there are no official numbers available by the Radiográfica Costarricense (Racsa), the state telecom says they have noticed an increase in email advertising.

The reason for this trend is simple, more Costa Ricans use the internet today than in the past, even if only to check and send emails.

Miguel Montero, a technical support official at Racsa, says Costa Ricans have assimilated themselves to the social media networks.
