A pair of Chinese Lions, accompanied by drum and cymbal, danced from dining room to dining room in the exotic Asian eatery Tin Jo to celebrate Chinese or Lunar New Year, February 14th. Each area presented an offering of lettuce and sweet peppers to the Lions.
The Lions danced and bowed before the Buddha before entering the kitchen to bless and offer protection to the heart of the restaurant for the upcoming year.
Dancing their way into the new two story salon, they had room for acrobatics as they retrieved their offerings suspended from the atrium ceiling in front of a crowd of red dressed revelers.
Each Lion was animated by a pair of athletes, one Tico and one Chinese. Lion dancing is a noble and competitive sport. The pair of Lions that danced at Tin Jo is world class and will certainly bring Costa Rica great blessings in 2010, the Year of the Tiger.
