Costa Rica es ha convertido en un famoso destino para el Golf. Debido a ello, en Costa Rica hay actualmente varios hoteles que ofrecen sus propios campos de Golf, donde se combina Golf con la naturaleza, normalmente la belleza escénica de las playas.
Actualmente contamos con 8 campos de Golf con quienes trabajamos.

Estos son:

Cariari

Con más de treinta años de operar al noroeste del Valle Central, el campo del Cariari Country Club es reconocido mundialmente. Diseñado por el famoso arquitecto George Fazio a principios de los años setenta, el Cariari es un bello par-71 de 6,577 yardas que reta al golfista con fairways angostos, delineados por árboles.

Valle del Sol

Los Sueños

Costa Rica, una maravilla ecológica de selvas tropicales, parques nacionales y abundante vida silvestre. Conchal

Ubicado dentro de Conchal resort, en la playa de arena mas blanca de Costa Rica. “Esto es golf sensible con el medio ambiente en su máxima expresión”, dijo el famoso arquitecto Robert Trent Jones Jr. después de completar su tarea como diseñador del campo de Reserva Conchal Golf Club.

Hacienda Pinilla

Ubicado en las hermosas playas de Santa Cruz Guanacaste, y cerca de atractivos como Tamarindo, Conchal, Flamingo y otras hermosas zonas, Pinilla es un iccono del Golf en Costa Rica. El campo de Hacienda Pinilla es considerado por muchos una de las obras maestras del arquitecto estadounidense Mike Young, muy conocido por haber diseñado algunos de los mejores campos del sur de su país.

Los Delfines

Ubicado a un lado de Hotel Playa Tambor y Los Delfines Country Club en Play Tambor Puntarenas. Aquí usted podrá disfrutar de su partida de golf en un increíble y bello ambiente natural, rodeado por los incomparables escenarios tropicales de Costa Rica.

Tango Mar

El Golf es una atracción principal. Trazado sobre terrenos gradualmente ondulados y a través de peñazcos sobre el océano, el Campo Ejecutivo de Golf del resort de 9 hoyos, par 3 y 4, cuidadosamente decorado le da un grandioso día de juego en un ambiente tropical de palmeras y exóticas aves.

“Tango Mar tiene un campo de nueve-hoyos y por esa simple razón muchos de nosotros lo eliminamos de nuestra lista de campos de juego, sin embargo este campo es perfecto para afinar la parte más importante y más descuidada de su juego: el juego corto. Este no es un campo de mini-golf según puede ver en el trazado del campo más abajo. El número de personas que tienen acceso a jugar en Tango Mar es muy limitado. Esto le permite jugar la mayor cantidad de hoyos que deseé o practicar hasta deleitarse completamente. Tango Mar no es un campo fácil. Si usted alguna vez ha tenido la emocionante experiencia de presenciar los “Masters en Augusta, Georgia”, y ha caminado su campo de nueve-hoyos, par tres, usted sabe que la belleza y la dificultad de un campo de golf no se miden necesariamente por su distancia.”

With the worldwide popularity of golf, it is no wonder then that Costa Rica has a number of golf courses and resorts across the country to satisfy even the most avid golfer. While a lot of large scale Costa Rica golf resorts being currently developed, the province of Guanacaste is home to the largest number of golf courses in the country. Not only are these courses set amidst some of the most beautiful scenic backdrops, but they are truly world class.

Visit the Hacienda Pinilla golf resort, one of the finest golf courses in Central America. A 7,500 yard par 72 golf course designed by renowned architect Mike Young, this resort is located just outside of Tamarindo near the tiny village of San Jose de Pinilla. Green fees during the high season are about US$ 125 per person, with golf carts available for rent at US$ 20 a day. For teeing off times, rates and direction get in touch with the resort directly.

If you are based in the capital city of San Jose, there are a number of choice golf resorts to choose from. Golf at the Costa Rica Country Club in Escazu, a 9-hole golf course with tennis courts and a swimming pool or try your luck at the Valle del Sol in Santa Ana, which has recently opened an 18-hole par 72 course. The green fee here is an affordable US$ 7 per person.

For those who can afford it, visit the fantastic Cariari Country Club on the road between Western San Jose and the Juan Santamaria International Airport. An 18-hole championship golf course, playing a game here is quite expensive at US$ 40 per person. Also do keep in mind that since the courses in San Jose are more easily accessible, they also tend to be a bit more crowded.

Considered to be one of the most exotic beaches on the Costa Rican Gold Coast, Playa Conchal is situated in the north of Guanacaste province on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Two kilometers from Playa Brasilito, this marvelous beach is also a stone’s throw away from the famous Playa Flamingo and Tamarindo. Together with Playa Brasilito, this beach is separated by a rocky headland known as Punta Conchal, which gets its name from the sand found here that is composed of hundreds of millions of tiny crushed shells.

This four kilometer beach stretch is accessible by air from San Jose to Tamarindo Domestic Airport, from where you can take a 10-minute taxi ride into town. However, you can also get here by taxi from the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, but it is around a 45-minute drive. If you don’t mind the traveling, you can enjoy a lovely scenic drive from San Jose to Playa Conchal, which takes around 4 hours.

A fabulous beach that has near perfect weather all year long, Playa Conchal, is bathed in sunshine most of the time, with over 12 hours of daylight from December to April. The water here always remains at a comfortable temperature and is ideal for swimming or snorkeling.

Close to the beach is the impressive resort of Paradisus Playa Conchal, one of the best hotels on the coast. You can consider staying here as this beach has no adjoining town. However, do keep in mind that a resort of this caliber is on the pricey side. For those traveling on a budget or just backpacking through, you can stay in the town of Brasilito.

With some of the clearest waters on the Gold Coast, snorkeling is a must-indulge activity for anyone who knows how to swim. With a fantastic array of marine life on display, you can swim with the many tropical fish that dwell here, and even catch a glimpse of stingrays that swim in the area. For the more adventurous, deep seas fishing, scuba diving, and other water sports are offered as well. If you get tired of the beach, Playa Conchal is also close to a few national parks and nature reserves. Nearby is a small estuary as well. Surrounded by a number of cattle ranches, Playa Conchal also has quite a few areas where one can camp out and sleep under the stars.

For the avid golfer, the ‘Garra de Leon’ Golf Course is just a few paces away from the beach. This championship course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., is considered to be one of the best golf courses in Central America with its breathtaking scenic beauty of the Pacific coast. Bordered by a forest on one side, you can often catch sight of howler monkeys that live there.

Just imagine playing golf with Costa Rica’s perfect weather and diverse wildlife, making it your best game in this decade. Golf in Costa Rica supports the country’s passion for conservation and has programs to protect macaws, and other local flora and fauna.

Located at the tip of the Guanacaste peninsula is Los Delfines. They are a beautiful golf course which has created a conservation program that in the last year has released over 60 macaws into the Tambor area. Playing Los Delfines in the afternoon is a treat because you get to see the macaws fly over while you are preparing for your shot.

Conchal (in the Brasilito area) also offers beautiful sites and takes great pride in protecting local flamingos and at Valle del Sol in the San Jose area. Tee off at the eighth tee and see the beautiful quetzals next to the lake.

The local golf association has a program with international organizations to aid new golf course development in minimizing its impact on the local habitat. They also aid courses in new technology using new grass variations that do not need as much fertilizer and can use sea water for irrigation. Sea water has a double benefit in that it not only decreases use of local aquifers, but also acts as a low tech pest control.

I have been playing golf here for the past 30+ years and amazed how the ecological awareness has matured. In the beginning, golf courses didn’t really think twice before cutting down trees – now they act proactively to better the surrounding areas.
